JKPS: PGDM Program Philosophy

 

The flagship PGDM program is fashioned to prepare a participant to be an outstanding business leader. Learning theory is only a microscopic part of the entire rigor at JKPS. Most of the energies are spent trying to apply the tools and techniques of Management to work out live situations.

The institution has created a powerful blend of curriculum, pedagogy and practice to provide management education that lasts a lifetime. JKPS’s full-time PGDM program offers specializations in contemporary areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Customer Relationship, Financial Engineering, Logistics, Banking, Insurance and Retailing and Services Management.

A curriculum committee comprising core faculty members, distinguished academicians from the IIMs and IITs and a wide cross section of business leaders from the corporate and public sectors have contributed for the development of PGDM program. The core value of the JKPS PGDM program lies in a strong synergy that the institution has developed between theory and practice. The academic content has enough scope for revalidation from time-to-time depending on the changing global environment.

A special segment of the curriculum is a unique Personality Development Program that trains in areas like Language, Etiquettes, Group Behavior, Ethics and Values. This program, the first of its kind being offered by a Business school in India, makes the JKPS PGDM program follow a pedagogy that is outrageously action-oriented. This pedagogy, thus, follows modern teaching-learning processes like simulations; role plays etc, ably deployed by the faculty members – trained and experienced in some of the best institutions and organizations in the country and abroad.

Community work is a compulsory activity for every student participant. JKPS is developing links with NGOs to offer social projects to its student participants. Also other aspects of community work like blood donation camps, community education and health programs are taught to students.

JKPS believes that each participant, who arrives at the institution, comes with a certain talent and bent of mind. The PGDM program, along with the unique learning environment that the institution offers to the participants, encourages to explore, discover, experiment and grow into complete human beings who will one day make a difference to how the world lives.
